To Which Are Affixed, Some Observations on the Character and Condition of the Scottish Peasantry, in Four Volumes. A complete set of four volumes printed in London in 1801 for T Cadell and W Davies, Strand, and W Creech in Edinburgh. Robert Burns was a Scottish poet widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and celebrated worldwide. he was considered a pioneer of the Romantic movement, and after he died, he became a cultural icon in Scotland. The books are done in brown leather with a gilt decorated spine, they are rubbed and have light ships and wear on the spines. A hard to find set. Only two compete sets are listed on the rare book web site we use at the auction house. The books measure 8 3/8 x 5 1/2 in wide.Please note that all sales are final.
