Description
An unsigned cherry springerle rolling pin mold, early 19th century. The pattern on the mold is birds and berries. While the birds on this mold are in the form of Pennsylvania Dutch Distelfink birds, representing happiness and good fortune, and commonly found in fraktur art, it is believed that this mold was made at the Congers New York City workshop during it period of operation, 1827-1835. The mold has been used and is slightly worn, but overall very good untouched condition. 11 1/2"L x 3"W.
