"Images of tables, chairs, and boats appear in my work for different reasons, because they ask from where do I see what I see? They combine voids, blend spaces, and conventions of abstraction and representation. Sometimes they obey gravity-grounded, as we are and other times they climb the wall, reversed or seem reflected, as if in a mirror or in water. Their spaces and ours become elusive and unclear". -Nahum Tevet
Tevet was born on Kibbutz Messilot and has lived in Tel Aviv since 1973. He was a Professor at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design from 1980-2013, serving as Head of the Master's Degree Program in Fine Art from 2001-2010. He has had many national and international exhibitions and won numerous awards and prizes.
Provenance: Donated by the artist
