Description
For your consideration in this lot is two pair of cast iron, early 1900's bookends. The first pair is "The Song of Hiawatha" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow bookends. The bookends show great craftsmanship and are from the mid-century; they have a tombstone design top and a quote on each side from Longfellow himself. The condition of these bookends is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of these bookends are 6 1/4" x 6" x 3 1/4". The next set of bookends is “End of the Trail". The bookends show good construction, with tooling to the background, the iconic "End of the Trail" decoration, and a velvet green bottom. The condition of these bookends is good, showing slight oxidation due to age. The measurements of these bookends are 5" x 5 1/4" x 2 3/4".
