Description
Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A refined flat pendant carved from greenstone with dark and light green inclusions. This minimalist motif is string-cut along its peripheries revealing a silhouetted abstraction of a frog. The stone is drilled through on parallel sides for attachment. Size: 1" L x 1.25" W (2.5 cm x 3.2 cm)
Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s.
