A large antique Chinese gold and red painted lacquer over hardwood cabinet. The painting is a traditional one preferred by craftsmen of the court workshops, depicting an official audience in the inner court of the Emperor. The sides are lacquered in floral panels and the back is without decoration. The interior provides two large coffers separated in the center by three drawers with gold stylized gourd and butterfly design over a black ground. Dimensions: 73.5” high x 53.25” wide x 23” deep.
