Albert Francis King (American, 1854-1945), late 19th or early 20th century oil on canvas laid on board of a landscape with a river. In original frame, signed A. F. King to lower right. Albert Francis King was born in 1854 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was described by some critics as Pittsburgh's primary still-life painter of the 19th century.

Dimensions are: Sight, 14 inches x 11 1/4 inches (35.6 cm x 28.6 cm), overall, 18 3/4 inches x 16 inches (47.7 cm x 40.6 cm). All measurements are approximate.

Condition: Crease to lower left corner, and a couple of small scuffs to paint, otherwise all original. Frame with some wear, loss to gilding.

Provenance: This painting as never been offered for sale since new. Purchased by an ancestor of the consignor who was a well to do resident of Pittsburgh at the turn of the 19th/20th century.
