Set of six Japanese mixed metal knives, circa 1880.The mixed metals of silver, gold and copper, depict sea creatures, birds, tree branches and fishing nets.
Two of the knife blades are breaking free from the handles, all of the knife blades are showing the beginnings of rust. All the blades appear to have Japanese marks. The handles are in decent condition, and are all signed in Japanese, what appears to be different signatures. The knives are 9.25 inches long, the handles are 4 inches long and some of the decoration of the mixed metals show rust.
One of the signatures on one of the knife handles reads: Shigehisa, and another signature on another one of the knife handles reads: Mingyoku.
