Description
This is a very sweet and delicate Chinese Ceramic Bowl. It comes from the highly important and influential era of China known as the Tang Dynasty, a period well known for it's artwork. It stands on three medium-sized white legs and has a brown raised rim on top, with the rest of the bowl being rounded and colored differently. The body of the bowl has a brown, green and white pattern on it, which is a pattern that is recognizable among Tang era ceramics. The green and brown colors on the bowl were obtained by using copper and iron, which were commonly used during this time period to obtain these colors. Mixing these metal oxides with a fluxed glaze helped this piece achieve the coloring it has today. It weighs 2 lb 3 oz and measures around 6" in height x 8.5" in diameter. It is boxed. No repairs or restorations.
