Description: Fine Meiji bronze panel vase with mixed metal brass, gold, and/or copper relief, a warm brown background patina and a distinctive 11 character cartouche kanji chop mark signature and/or inscription, which includes that the vase was made in Kyoto, Japan per our Japanese speaking staff. In the manner of Komai. Bamboo, pine trees, ad bird motifs in each panel. With abstract geometric designs in panels near the lip. This vase is an eye-catcher!
Signed: 11 character cartouche, including made in Kyoto, Japan.
Circa: 1875-1900
Dimensions: 9 inches tall, approx. 6 inches across hip. 3.5 inches diameter at base, 4.25 inch diameter at lip.
Condition: 1 small neck wrinkle, 2 adjacent hip dents and 1 hip crinkle. 1 dent to the upper left of the inscription cartouche. Patina wear at base, some shallow dents to panel fields. Evidence of polishing to highlights.
