Description
Five ceramic plates, 2005, original cardboard box numbered 10/100.
All 6 in. (diameter).
Note: The idea for Social Pudding was born during conversations between Rirkit Tiravanija and the group called Superflex (Rasmus Nielsen, Jakob Fenger and Bjornstjerne Christiansen) at the time of a joint exhibition in Germany in 2003. Tiravanija is known for his innovative art practice which blurs the lines between process and the finished work, and art and its audience. The Danish creative group known as Superflex engage in alternative modes of creation that focus on the dissemination of social and economic organizations. Their projects, called 'Tools', invite people to participate in the development of ideas and proposals to affect economic and social change. Together, Tiravanija and Superflex created Pudding Plates to explore the fabric of society, what they call the 'pudding of society', through everyday activities like eating.Â
