Description

Japanese Gilt-Metal Mounted Black Lacquer, Japanned and Parcel-Gilt Chest on Giltwood Stand
The cabinet doors and sides decorated with birds and flowers and opening to an arrangment of drawers, the stand probably second quarter 19th century, carved with fruit and foliage and raised on cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet. Height 63 inches (160 cm), width 43 inches (109.2 cm), depth 27 inches (68.6 cm).

Condition

Modern cabinet in good condition, one key to open cabinet doors, stand partially composed of older elements, later gilded, losses and chips to gilding, old marks and scratches, scuffs to legs and feet, wood worm damage to stand.
