Description
A pair of Chinese Mughal style jadeite marriage bowls with 4-character marks of Qianlong and of the period with Zitan wood stands. Each features a pair of stylized bat handles holding engaged rings. The interiors feature roundels of lotus tracery.
Dimensions are: 1 3/4 inches tall X 9 1/2 inches wide, 4.4 cm X 24.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: One washer has two cracks. The other washer was broken and has been repaired with staples.
Provenance: From a private Long Island, New York collection. A similar example of one bowl with loop handles can be found at the Palace Museum in Beijing. Examples of similar, lobed bowls have been sold at Christie's Hong Kong on November 27, 2012, as lot 2357 and at Christie's London on November 4, 2019, as lot 129.
