Description
A tall Chinese silver ewer inlaid with Qing dynasty jades. The sides of the ewer feature carved jade ruyi heads, and the handle contains a jade dragon hook with a Chilong. The finial of the lid is a jade carving of a goat eating lingzhi. Coral and turquoise pieces are also inset throughout the ewer.
Dimensions are: 14 1/2 inches tall X 10 inches wide, 36.8 cm X 25.4 cm. Weight: 2450 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The metal has significant oxidation. Several coral and turquoise pieces are missing. The jades are in overall good condition.
Provenance: From Ms. Glogau in Long Island, New York. A family heirloom.
