The present work depicts Popham Beach, just opposite of Georgetown Island, Maine where William Zorach's parents had a home. Looking through the tall grass of the dunes, finely painted figures are seen enjoying a bright sunny day and the waters where the Kennebec River flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
