Remnants of the secondary digits are also visible inside the loops of both 8s, and a spidery die crack runs through the ball of the shield and the 3, identifying the scarce FS-302 overdate. The 1883, 3 over 2 variety is listed on page 133 of the 2017 Guide Book.The present coin is a high-end Gem, from the last year of the Shield design. The design elements are sharply detailed throughout, and the obverse shows an extensive network of interesting die cracks through the fields and the wreath.
