Nice desktop size bronze of male peacock, lovely warm brown patina, artist signed along bottom edge (B. Willis ?), Zoppo Foundary mark on back of tail, 7 in. long x 2 in. wide x nearly 4 in. tall, old felt glued to bottom, c. 1916, excellent condition. Zoppo Foundry was a New York City foundry that was active in the early part of twentieth century. The famous western artist Charles Marion Russell used Zoppo Foundry to cast some of his bronze works. The foundry was closed in 1926, when its owner became ill and returned to his native Italy.
