Description
Stunning Meissen Porcelain, 10½" Figure "Woman Gathering Fruit" Early 20th Century, Crossed Swords On Based, Etched No. 1. Very Scarce. Beautiful Meissen figure of a woman gathering fruit in her apron as a lamb rests at her feet. Crosses swords hall mark with an etched No. 1 just above blue swords as well as a name difficult to make out, written in black. Stunning artistry as one comes to expect from Meissen most especially if creating the look of the fabric, the folds and colors. A tree branch rises from the base behind the woman having four clusters of leaves. One leaf is missing from one of the clusters (fortunately discrete) otherwise this piece is in incredible condition. We have rarely had the opportunity to auction these larger Meissen figures and know this example would be a prize for any level of collector.
