CHINA-HONG KONG ND 50 Cents Silver Pattern, with three crowned shields design, toned, proof, KM Pn79, PR-236, extremely rare, NGC PF64, ex Goodman Collection. W&B Capital Collection.

This half dollar is one of the rarest Hong Kong silver coins, only two are known to exist. The piece offered here is the only one in private hands. It was finest sold in 1995 Goodman sale and 1997 Champion sale. The other known half dollar is in the HSBC Museum Collection. One set of one dollar, 20 cents, 200 millet crown pattern realized $115,000 in a Hong Kong Auction in 1996.
The coins with three crowned shields are designed by L.C. Wyon. The crown dollar has 3 known pieces with two in private hands. The Half dollar pattern is comparable in rariety to the 1868 proof half which realized $109,250 in 1995 Goodman Auction . An unique opportunity to acquire this rariety.
