Charles Gassner - Mix Media charcoal, pastel, paint Dimension: 22 1/2 x 35 Signed lower right. Gassner was born in the Netherlands and was a painter of both abstract and figurative subjects. He studied in the Hague and Berling following which he spent time in South Africa. He was part of the very distinctive South African school of representational abstraction, during what has become the Isolation Years. End of 1950's he was teaching in London and after returned back to S. Africa. Over the years his art has become more important and prices have been rising.
