Description
A near pair of English porcelain plates, each with a central hand-painted pastoral scene surrounded by reticulated gilt borders of interlocking lacework and medallions. Onedepicts cows wading across a stream, the other depicts a young girl standing at the edge of a stream. Both have MINTON impressed on the reverse, together with an English registry mark dated to 1863.

Condition
Plate with central scene of cows: Very minor gilding loss in a few spots. There are two small cracks visible to the underside close to the edge where the rim is pierced. Plate with the central scene of girl: There is a scratch to the right of the central scene. English registry mark faded, but the outline of the stamp remains.
