Description
This is a charming estate found original watercolor painting of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, the iconic titular character of The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher. The famed Beatrix Potter story follows Mr. Fisher as he goes on a fishing adventure in the hopes of catching enough minnows to host a dinner party that evening. Almost everything goes wrong for the poor fellow, including being almost eaten up by a trout. Mr. Jeremy journeyed home without any minnows for dinner and no fishing gear as it was lost in the scuffle with the trout. Even though there were no minnows to serve, Mr. Jeremy's friends came to dinner to sup on roasted grasshopper with ladybird sauce. This beautiful painting features Mr. Jeremy Fisher sitting cross-legged on his lily pad boat waiting to catch a minnow. The painting is matted and framed. There is no signature. As such, we do not know the artist. - Sight: 5" x 6 3/4", Frame: 9 3/8" x 11 1/4"
Condition
In overall very good condition. The painting exhibits mild toning where the matting covers the paper. This condition is consistent with age and method of display/storage.
