Description
Cut overlay star in frost cologne bottles, each measures 10 1/4" high, 3 3/4" in diameter, circa 1850-1870. Rare find. Many Sandwich colognes have the slender ring around the neck. 8 pointed stars cut into the base another trait of the Sandwhich company, repeated 4 times. These 2 beauties trace all the way back to Charles Lapham, gaffer for the Sandwhich company. Enclosed is a letter of provenance traceing the journey of thesebottles to today. The amazing thing is they were saved durring Shermans march to the sea in 1864.we will copy letter in photos
