Copeland & Garrett Late Spode "New Fayence" set, c. 1833-1847, English, approx. (70) piece dinner service, transferware printed in colors, in a Chinoiserie pattern with pagodas in a landscape, printed and impressed marks, comprising: (22) dinner plates (10"dia.), (11) cream soup bowls (10"dia), (10) soup bowls (8.5"dia), (12) salad plates (8.5"dia), (2) bread plates (7.5"dia), (1) covered tureen and (1) under plate, (1) center/fruit bowl, (2) covered vegetable dishes, (1) small covered sauce tureen and (1) under plate, and (6) graduated size serving platters (largest: 21"l x 15.5"w), (smallest: 10.5"l x 7.75"w)
Provenance: Furnishings from the Estate of Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski, a Parish-Hadley Commission
Notes/Literature: Model, socialite, and Andy Warhol protege, Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski, made her name as a young editor at Interview Magazine and as a popular subject of the Society pages. Later marrying German industrialist and polo champion Henryk de Kwiatkowski, they built a Connecticut country estate and stables, designed by architect Alan Wanzenberg and decorated by legendary interior designers Sister Parish and Albert Haley
