France, patinated and gilt cast bronze, enameled clock face, glass cover, in the form of a lion standing on a ball, bearing a globular clock on its hind quarters, the signed white enamel clock face set with black Roman numbers and gilt bronze hands, topped with a rooster and arrow quill crest, all on a tiered base raised on ball feet, works unmarked, 16"h x 10"w x 5"d

Notes/Literature: Model, socialite, and Andy Warhol protege, Barbara Allen de Kwiatkowski, made her name as a young editor at Interview Magazine and as a popular subject of the Society pages. Later marrying German industrialist and polo champion Henryk de Kwiatkowski, they built a Connecticut country estate and stables, designed by architect Alan Wanzenberg and decorated by legendary interior designers Sister Parish and Albert Haley
