Description
English and Continental, late 19th / early 20th century. Group mainly of Victorian silver plated animal form knife rests, comprising: a pair of squirrels, and single macaw, rabbit, goat, monkey (French), rooster (French), cat/kitten, lion, griffin/dragon, sphinx, peacock, horse, ram, and two ducks. The monkey and rooster marked in part 'Argit Garant" and '2or', the rabbit 'Argit', macaw '24, and goat '22'. Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of Billy S. Arant, Jr., Chattanooga, TN. Approx. of the largest, 2.25", w. 5.5", d. 2.25".
