Alfred Hutty (American/New York/South Carolina, 1877-1954). "Street Vendor, Church and Tradd Streets, Charleston, South Carolina" -1947, watercolor. Signed and titled verso, also signed verso by Bessie Hutty, his wife and estate executrix. Note: Hutty painted this street vendor and patron at the corner of Church and Tradd Streets, less than a block from his home and the homes of other prominent Charleston Renaissance artists Alice Ravenel Huger Smith and Elizabeth O'Neill Verner. 76 Church, the home of "Porgy" author Dubose Heyward, can be seen in the center of the composition.
