Description
Charles Amand-Durand (French, 1831-1905) after Albrecht Durer (German, 1471-1528), Georges Rapilly - publisher. 'St. Eustace" - late 19th to first quarter 20th century. Engraving on paper, Durer monogram in plate to lower center, artist monogram and publisher's stamp to the verso. Religious scene depicting the conversion of St. Eustace with the stag. Approx. 14.75" x 10.5" (sheet), 20.75" x 16.5" (frame).
Condition
Overall toning; sheet is hinged; vertical staining (non-distracting) to right side of sheet extending approx. 1/3 towards center; toning to mat and stains/burns to mount.
