The "American Freeman" was an anti-slavery newspaper from the abolitionist Liberty Party published 1844-1848 in Waukesha/Prairieville, a station on the Underground Railroad for runaway slaves and an abolitionist center before the American Civil War. The newspaper's motto was "Universal Equality of Human Rights."
