Description
It is said that a picture paints 1000 words and in this case, that will have to suffice. While I was able to find all sorts of bio material on woodblock artist Eizan Kikukawa, the only information I could dig up on the artist of this piece, Sanoya Kihei, was that he lived from 1797-1858, meaning he worked during the Edo Period, which went from 1603 to 1868. Besides being an artist, he also acted as a publisher of works for other artista of the period. This particular work measures 11"x 29" and is in very good condition. Please see photos for more detail and condition. Date: 1800's Country (if not USA): Japan State: City: Provenance:Date: 1800'sCountry (if not USA): JapanState: City: Provenance:
