Female doll with swivel socket bisque head, sleepy blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, applied pierced ears, and attached dark brown curly wig. On a composite body with jointed shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. Circular hole in back with mesh and reattached torso for talking mechanism. Wearing drawers, a fine cotton chemise, a lace and silk ecru overdress, stockings and leather shoes. Imprinted "Figure C Steiner Bte. SGDG Paris" on back of neck. Paris, c. 1890.

Face and head in good condition. Eyes do not roll freely. Back of scalp is not well fitting and may have been a restoration. Mesh over hole in back is not affixed and there is no talking mechanism visible. Area of torso reattachment has some wear and there are chips to the surface veneer of the body. Silk of overdress is shredding consistent with age. Condition report available upon request.
