Description
Durrell (Lawrence, novelist and poet, 1912-90) 2 Autograph Letters signed and 3 Typed Letters signed to Margaret McCall, a British television producer of arts programmes, together 6pp. & envelopes, 8vo, Sommières, France, postmarked 1969-72, on a variety of subjects, including: his writing, "This new book is fearfully ambitious and I doubt not but that I'll fall on my face with it. But I don't care, pregnancy euphoria you might say it was", and a trenchant attack on Robert Graves, "I see your Pal Graves shat on Pound when he heard him safely dead; what a shit he is. I often think of Dylan's postcard to Grigson which said 'Dear Geoffrey, I could write attacks on your verse too if I wanted, but it would be like hitting a man when he is down.' Graves waits till they are down to shit on them!", folds.
