Description
The 18th century example with medallion back joining open arms with carved ornament over scroll knuckles supported by highly carved undulating and serpentine seat rails and frame on cabriole legs with scroll feet. The carving, construction and patina of this example are notable.
A 19th century gout stool in matching upholstery is included.
Chair measures 36 x 27 x 22, seat height 20 inches. Stool measures 14.5 x 18 x 18 inches.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.

Very good condition, noting a skillfully executed old repair to the proper left stile visible form the back side, repair at the top joint upper proper right side, no other issues of damage or repair, sturdy and good.
