Description
The outstanding pair of late 18th century banquettes or benches, early iterations Louis XVI motifs in simple renderings of grooved horizontal rails mortised into legs topped by simple unadorned block with old, probably original, paint and wood pegs above tapered legs with rounded flutes, exceptional original untouched dry wood surface overall, the frames are an identical match, the covering on each differs.
Each measures 20 x 68 x 15 inches.
Provenance: The multi-generation collection of an early Kansas City family in the same home since 1962.
