18th Century Original Intaglio Engraving by Georg Martin Preissler (1700–1754) - Engraving is Figure / Plate #10 of Preissler's series entitled "Antique and Modern Statues at Rome and at Florence" consisting of set of twenty-one (21) engravings of classical and neo-classical sculptures in Rome and Florence | Circa 1750 | Engraving on fine watermarked laid paper - numbered in lower right corner "10" | Signed by engraver in plate | The watermark has a heraldic shield with crown and text (see photographs) | Matted and framed under archival glass | Approx. Size: 23" H x 17.5" W | Georg Martin Preisler (fl. 1750) was a German engraver. Born in Nuremberg, he was the son of Johannes Daniel Preisler. He was most notable for his portraits and a series of twenty-one engravings of classical and neo-classical sculptures in Rome, based on drawings made there by his brother Johan Martin Preisler.
