Hans Stern landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as a teen after his family fled Nazi Germany, and found a job at a company that cut and exported gemstones. He learned all he could in the jewelry business, eventually founding his own company as a young man. Stern wanted Brazil to be known as the Land of the Colored Gemstone, and his creations captured the free-spirited and colorful essence of the culture. This 2-line necklace was finely crafted of solid 18k yellow gold and is embellished with approximately 95.00ctw blue topaz, aquamarine, amethyst, pink and green tourmaline, garnet, citrine and peridot, which are expertly placed in a perfect gradient rainbow. The suite also includes matching earrings embellished with approximately 8.00ctw multi-gemstones. The necklace and earrings come with an H. Stern pouch and are marked with the gold purity "750" along with an "MG 830" hallmark, which was a mark used during the 1980s that refers to the mine in Brazil where the gemstones were mined, in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
