Badge of the Order of the Order of the Golden Fleece circa 1850, made of 18kts yellow gold with silver overlays, comprising a badge, insignia and pin, upper part in the form of a badge, with 6 central diamonds, old cut, total weight estimated at 6. 50cts (some of which are engraved), estimated colour grade K-L and estimated purity grade SI1-P1, body with 122 diamonds, old cut (one diamond is missing). The representation of the Fleece (detachable) with the Order's own speaking symbols: the ram, symbol of the city of Bruges, on the upper part the flames, referring to the legend of Jason's rescue of the Golden Fleece, hangs from it. The flames are set with faceted rubies, in the centre a cabouson-cut sapphire, bordered by old-cut diamonds, and the fleece set with old-cut diamonds, eye with a faceted ruby. This magnificent work of goldsmithing is completed by the pin and the insignia, both representing the Order of the Order of the Fleece, also made of 18 carat yellow gold and silver, with faceted rubies, oval-cut sapphire centre, cabouson-cut and diamonds.
