Description
There are two marks on the base. One is of two Japanese characters. The other is a diamond with the letters CPO inside. This mark stands for the Central Purchasing Office and indicates the vase was sold at a U.S. military base in Occupied Japan shortly after World War II ended. The mark was used from about 1946 until 1948.
MEASUREMENTS
5 7/8” (14.9 cm) tall x 5 ½” (14.0 cm) diameter. Weighs 1 lb 9 oz (700 g)
CONDITION
There are no breaks cracks. There are three small chips on the back (see photo). There is wear to the rim mouth glaze. The gilding on the flowers is in good condition.
