George Lingford
George Lingford (1853-1933), as a boy, had lived in Bristol and attended Dame's School, where he had studied art during the 1860s under Henry Stacy (1838-1915), who was Art Master there. (source: askart.com)

Davids notes: A breathtakingly beautiful watercolor, as these late 19th century works go. The quality is almost the level of a Frank Church, Thomas Cole or Albert Bierstadt. The majestic scenery is sundrenched, but the purple and yellow flowers on the ground and moss around the lake glow through the streaking mist in front of the mountains. Exceptional.
