(Disneyland, 1977) A very rare commemorative plaque created for the Mercury Astronauts 18-year reunion event at Disneyland as part of the Grand Opening weekend for Space Mountain. The event was held between May 27-29, 1977, and this seldom-seen gift features a metal plaque with the names of eight Mercury Astronauts, six of whom attended the opening, as well as a dimensional recreation of the Space Mountain attraction building. This rare gift measures 6.25"x13.75" and 1.5" deep and is in very good overall condition with a few small nicks and scuffs to the attraction building. There is a small crack in the base of the top spire on the building.
