Description
(Walt Disney World, 1971-95) A vintage Playland Rifle Gallery electro-mechanical shooting game manufactured by Chicago Coin in 1959. This game machine was installed in the Magic Kingdom's Penny Arcade on Main Street from Opening Day in 1971 until the attraction closed 1995. During that time, the rifle, target box, back glass, and mechanicals were transplanted into a custom wood grain cabinet by Disney. The game features elaborately lighted moving targets that fall down when hit, swinging targets, and static bull eye targets. The back glass showcases a mechanical reel score counter and lighting elements indicating rank and match score. The mechanics appear to function well, however some of the targets may need servicing. An iconic piece of Americana, the cabinet measures 69"x28.5" and 51.5" deep with the separate wooden player stand and is in good condition with a dented bottom bracket, and chipping and scratches to the cabinet throughout from years of use in a high traffic concession. The game was offered by Disney at the Official Disneyana Convention of 1996, and a special plaque signifying its use in the Penny Arcade is included.
