Description
NEISSE ARSENAL MUSKET. Cal. 72. S# 6057. Bbl. 41". 57" Overall. German proof & dated “1828” at breech & “6057”. Lock is marked w/ "CROWN / NEISSE / 1828”. Many of these obsolete model 1808s converted to percussion early 1840s were sold at the beginning of the Civil War to the US & Confederacy. Often referred to as Potsdam muskets as that is the best known Prussian arsenal. CONDITION: very good as stretched from rear band forward & cracked through bbl. tang. Markings crisp. Mechanically fine w/ smooth, clear bore. (01-19370/JS). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
