**First Time At Auction**
North America, United States, Rochester, New York, ca. 1954 CE. A scientific ceramic anatomy model, perhaps a brain stem, on a wooden base. On the tan section is engraved "J. F. MUELLER 1954." All parts are hand painted with vibrant colors for easy identification. Justus F. Mueller (1902-1993) was a parasitologist who studied art at the Corcoran Art School and the Maryland Institute, and combined his scientific knowledge with art to create models of biological subjects; both human and animal. A great teaching model that could make a fine addition to an office or a lab.
