Chinese Qing chao chow pewter box, decorated with archaic characters on each side, with lid depicting carp fish, flanked by jadeite handles. Marked, "Yanyihe Chaoyang 'with copper' Shan Tou Branch". PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Wei Yuan Hsueh and Emily Hsueh, Dallas, Texas. Owners of the former Oriental Art Shop in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Hsueh was a Chinese government official as Consul to Jamaica and Consul to Germany prior to beginning Oriental Art Shop. 6"H x 7.25"W x 10"L, Circa - Late 19th C.
