Chinese Republic Yixing teapot by Fan Fu Chou, in the shape of persimmon. One side having a carved calligraphy poem, the other side depicting a scholar seated beneath a tree. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Wei Yuan Hsueh and Emily Hsueh, Dallas, Texas. Owners of the former Oriental Art Shop in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Hsueh was a Chinese government official as Consul to Jamaica and Consul to Germany prior to beginning Oriental Art Shop. Fan Fu Chou (Chinese, 1900-1959). 9"L x 6" Dia., Circa - Early 20th C.
