Description
A very well done piece of advertising art from the 1950's. The painting is gouache and pastel on laid Strathmore Artist paper (blindstamp on paper). The subject is a US Rubber, U.S. Royal Tire Center. There is a Gordon Babcock Advertising Associates, Lexington Ave. label, verso. Don Draper may have had an apprenticeship here. The work is unsigned and affixed to what may be the original agency mounting board. It is a great example of Mad Men period advertising art. Measures: 25 x 31 3/4" Board 19" x 25" Sheet 15
Condition
Work is affixed to paperboard. Work is otherwise in very good condition - colors are bright and vivid. Slight rippling to paper.
