(1852-1853) Francisco & Whitman Hatters R-6 Miller-Tenn-55 Merchant Token Grades GEM Unc BN. Handsome token from a millinery and hatter company in Nashville. The obverse features a man's top hat in the center. 29mm, Plain edge. Light overall toning with some original red coming thru. in areas of low relief; reflective qualities still intact. This token was made in the 1852-1853 range. By 1854, Whitman had left the firm and future tokens said Francisco & co. These are much more prevalent. Additional, the majority were struck in Brass with a reeded edge. This is the Miller-Tenn-55, ms65 BN with a lot of original Red coming Thru. For fun, Ive included a photo of the square in Nashville from 1852.
