GERMAN HOECHST HAND-PAINTED PORCELAIN PAIR OF CANDLESTICKS, each featuring beautiful polychrome floral decorations with low relief gingko-style leaf design, having underglaze blue six-spoked wheel with crown mark and incised "HI". Hochster Porzellan-Manufaktur, Germany. Third quarter 18th century. 7 7/8" HOA.
Undamaged, each with some wax residue and minor wear to enamel decorations. Manufacturing flaw, including one with firing separation to underside, as made.
Provenance: Items from the Baliserio Montero estate, Argentine Ambassador to Belgium in the 1880's.
