A Chinese douqing glazed double handle porcelain vase
Qing dynasty Qianlong period
36 cm H x 20 cm Diam
This Longquan vase has a novel shape, a long neck, round abdomen, and an oval long abdomen in the lower part with round feet. The carcass is thick and heavy, with green glaze all over the body, bright and luminous. The shape of the device is simple and neat, and the shape wins.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
