Wonderful set of four tumblers hand thrown and hand decorated by Edwin and Mary Scheier.
The Scheiers moved in 1940 to New Hampshire, where they taught at University of New Hampshire and made beautiful and creative pottery.
These tumblers have very clear horizontal ridges from the hand throwing. They are decorated in a dark brown variegated glaze with the interior in chocolate brown. Each tumblers has four sgrafitto chickens in the chocolate brown color.
Excellent condition, no flaws noted. Each tumbler measures just under 4 1/2" tall.
